Sarah Beth Banning, artist & educator

Sarah Beth Banning was born and raised in South Texas surrounded by farm and ranch land before moving into the heart of the Texas Hill Country. As a child her favorite toys were pencil and paper.  She says she became an artist because of her love for horses.  She was a little girl without a real horse so she drew horses or anything else she could dream up nearly everyday of her childhood. When she turned 16 she taught herself to paint in the attic of her parents house one hot and long summer. She sold everything she painted that summer to family and friends and so her dream of becoming an artist was born.

Sarah Beth received her B.F.A with a major in painting from Texas State University. After graduation she opened SongBrush Gallery in Wimberley, TX where she sold her paintings and taught art lessons out of her studio. Owning a gallery and studio space was a huge motivator to paint and grow as an artist. The gallery helped get her name out to the local community and beyond and was the first step in getting her art into other galleries and to a much larger audience. She currently resides in Lago Vista, surrounded by Lake Travis and the beautiful Hill Country of Texas where she paints in her home studio.  http://www.sarahbanning.com
