Christel Cervantez, artist & educator

Born in Germany, Christel was exposed at a young age to the classical art of Florence and Venice.  After moving to Chicago, she learned about contemporary and modern art, and eventually came to Texas where her artwork won the regional TAEA VASE competition.  She studied Art and Art History at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and in 2011 one of her pieces was selected to be on display at a SoHo art gallery for anime-style art.  After graduation, she became a graphic designer and designed the graphics for one of the Toyota Tundra trucks that hauled the NASA Space Shuttle Endeavor through San Antonio.  Moving to Austin, she managed a group of photographers and videographers for wedding events and has spent the last few years teaching art to elementary-aged youths.
