Melissa L. Scott is not your average person, which perhaps is why the titles of “artist, designer, and
storyteller” fit her so well. It is said that during the Covid Lockdown she wrote, inked, colored, and
edited a 5 part short story webcomic in less than 3 months and that she once beat 500 other artists
around the world to have her illustration for DreamWorks showcased at the Chinese Theater. She then
joined an accomplished Disney animator is founding Wild Goat Animation art collective while premiering
their short Cowabunga in LA. Then to top it off she won the Georgetown Poppy Fest Art Contest and
judged the next one. To top it off, she currently holds the record amongst her friends and family for the
most moves within the United States, earning her the title of American Nomad.
Some call her a visionary. Many call her eccentric. And this one town in Indiana knows her only as Mad
Madam Mim.
Now, currently located in central Texas, Melissa continues to be fascinated with life and the tales it
holds. Inspired by not only her own experiences but by the works of others through books and movies,
she strives to tell stories through both traditional and digital media. Like a chameleon, Melissa adapts
her style to what is needed to best express her visions and let the story be the driving factor in her work.
And when she isn’t working on a specific story, she enjoys capturing the beauty of nature and moments
in time through drawing and painting.
